A change.org petition is calling on Easton to take down its statue of Christopher Columbus, saying it commemorates a racist heritage of colonialism. Easton Mayor Sal Panto opposes its removal, saying poor Italian-American immigrants sacrificed to present it as a gift to their adopted city.
